Week of 1.28.19

Hello Brave Community!  Happy Monday!   Today has been such an exciting day.   We started our day by announcing that (kindergarten teacher) Mrs. Valerie Borkowski is our Double File Trail Elementary Teacher of the Year, and (receptionist) Mrs. Mindy McVey is our Double File Trail Elementary Humanitarian of the Year!   I am thrilled to be on this DFT team with both of these deserving ladies providing a teaching and learning experience that positively impacts and inspires each of our BRAVE students! As a Leader in Me campus, we highlight one of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People each week.   Our habit of the week this week is Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood !    We teach our students to listen to others and to try to understand the views and feelings of others, even if they are different from their own. Hello Brave Community!  Happy Friday!   I am very much looking forward to this 3-day weekend.   I especially enjoy participating in the local MLK celebrations and reflecting on the message in Dr. King’s inspirational “I Have a Dream” speech.   Heroic leaders, such as Dr. King, inspire my thoughts, as well as my actions.   It is my hope that my team and I provide a teaching and learning experience that positively impacts and inspires each of our BRAVE students! Hello Brave Community!  Happy Monday and Happy New Year!   I hope that you had an enjoyable Winter Break! Last week was an exciting first week back .   It was so refreshing to be back among our student body of amazingly smart and kind leaders.   We are rested and ready to continue to provide an exceptional teaching and learning experience for all of our BRAVE students! As a Leader in Me campus, we highlight one of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People each week.   Our habit of the week this week is Habit 4: Think Win-Win !    We teach our students how to think of others when problem solving.   Our goal is to arrive at solutions that benefit everyone involved.
