Double File Trail Elementary

Hello Brave Community!  Happy Monday!   There is so much positive energy in the air.   I am excited to share that Friday is Leadership Day!   We will showcase for our families and community how we integrate the 7 Habits of Happy Kids into our school culture. Student leaders will lead a Pep Rally to celebrate the amazing energy and spirit we share at Double File Trail Elementary. Before or after the Pep Rally, parents will have the opportunity to visit their child's classroom to engage in a Student-Led Conference where students share their goals and celebrations. Visitors who do not have a child attending Double File Trail will have the opportunity to go on a tour led by student leaders. Hello Brave Community!  Happy Monday!   On Friday, members of my team and I visited Cottonwood Creek Elementary in Coppell, Texas.   We were able to experience Genius Hour.   It was simply amazing.   The activities had the students authentically engaged.   I am excited about bringing a version of Genius Hour to our campus.   I am certain that this will enhance the teaching and learning experience and positively impact and inspire each of our BRAVE students! As a Leader in Me campus, we highlight one of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People each week.   Our habit of the week this week is Habit 6: Synergize !    We teach our students the value of working together with others.   We provide opportunities for teamwork among students because we know that they can get more done when working with a group than working alone. Hello Brave Community!  Happy Monday!   This school year is moving right along.   It’s already February!   We have a full week ahead of us, including a 5 th grade visit to Hernandez Middle School on Tuesday and a third grade performance Thursday evening.   I am thrilled to be on this DFT team providing a teaching and learning experience that positively impacts and inspires each of our BRAVE students!
