Hello Brave Community! 

Happy Monday Evening!  How about this weather!  After over a week of rain and flooding in some areas, we now have the most amazing weather.  I hope that you take the opportunity to enjoy it.  We will make sure that each of our BRAVE students get a well-deserved break from the amazing teaching and learning classroom environment to enjoy the weather during their school day with their friends!

As a Leader in Me campus, we highlight one of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People each week.  Our habit of the week this week is Habit 6: Synergize!   We teach our students the value of working together with others.  We provide opportunities for teamwork among students because we know that they can get more done with a group than working alone.

Word of the Week (WOW):
This week’s word is “creativity”.  It is a noun that means the ability to make something new.  Partner with us in focusing on our campus WOW.  Ask your student to use the word in a sentence or perhaps you could be very intentional in your use of our word.  Thanks for your participation!

Bond Information Meeting:
Detailed information about the Bond proposal (which will be on the November 6, 2018 ballot) is available on our district website at bond.roundrockisd.org.

Coffee with the Principal:
Please join me for my next Coffee and Conversation on Friday, November 9, 2018.  I am very much interested in getting to know you better, as well providing an opportunity for you to get to know me.  We will begin immediately following announcements at 7:45 a.m.

Nine-Week Assembly:
On Thursday, 11/1, we will have our nine week assemblies (for grades 3rd-5th) to celebrate our students’ achievements.

Library Nights:
Join us in the library most Tuesdays, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for a Read Aloud and an activity.  The next couple Library Nights are scheduled for 10/30, 11/6, 11/15, 11/27, 12/4 and 12/11.  We hope to see you there! 

Brave Family Fun Night! (repeat from last week)
Save the date for our first ever Brave Family Fun Night!  The event will be on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, 5:30-7:30.  We will have amazing Math and Literacy activities that are directly connected to our Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.  AND, our Book Fair will be open that evening!  Please plan to attend!

My Belief:
I consider it a privilege and a blessing to serve the Double File Trail Elementary Community as the principal.  I believe in our students and their ability to achieve excellence in education.   Hello Brave Community!  Happy Tuesday! I hope that you all had a delightful and restful Thanksgiving Break! I enjoyed time with my family, as well as some really tasty food! I am also enjoying the cooler weather. New Arrival Procedure Begins Tomorrow!

  Hello Brave Community!  Happy Wednesday evening! We are off to an amazing school year!  Thanks for your patience and support as we launched this new school year!  For the first two days of the school year we were happy to offer our families the opportunity to walk students to class to meet the teacher and observe the new learning environment. Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, 8/17, we will shift to our more permanent arrival procedures. All students will continue to enter through the main entrance Students opting to eat breakfast at school will go directly to the the cafeteria (except for PK; they will go to the library and be escorted to class at 7:25, and then have breakfast at 7:45 with their teachers) PK-2nd Grade students not eating breakfast will go directly to the library 7:10-7:25 3rd-5th Grade students not eating breakfast will go directly to the gym 7:10-7:25 All students will will be released to head to class at 7:25 (PK & Kinder will be escorted by staff The cafe

Brave News 3.22.24

Hello Brave Community!  Happy Friday! Today was an amazing day filled with tons of teaching and learning. We ended our day with the excitement of Brave Hour!  Students were gardening, creating visual art, planning a stage play, playing checkers/chess and so much more. During Brave Hour every student must have a purpose. Consider asking your student how he or she spent Brave Hour, and more specifically what his or her purpose was today.
