Week of 3.11.19
Hello Brave Community!
Happy Monday! We are counting down the days until Spring
Break. During
the break, encourage your student to enjoy a new book or even sharpen their
math skills by logging on to DreamBox. We
will be back bright and early Monday, March 25, 2019 to continue to provide an
exceptional teaching and learning experience for all of our BRAVE students!
As
a Leader in Me campus, we highlight one of the Seven Habits of Highly
Effective People each week. Our
habit of the week this week is Habit 3: Put
First Things First! We teach our
students to prioritize and spend time on things that are most important.
Word of the Week (WOW):
This week’s word is “famished”. It
is an adjective that means extremely hungry. Partner with us in focusing on our
campus WOW. Ask your student to use the word in a sentence or
perhaps you could be very intentional in your use of our
word. Thanks for your participation!
Site-Based Advisory
Committee: (repeat from last week)
This committee is comprised of
administrators, teachers, parents, community members and business members. We meet four times each year with a goal of
continuous school improvement. In our
meetings, we discuss the Campus Improvement Plan (CIP), campus initiatives and
any other focus areas for the school year.
Our next meeting is Monday, March 25, 2019.
Library Nights:
Join us in the library most Tuesdays, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for a
Read Aloud and an activity. The next few Library Nights are scheduled
for 3/26, 4/2, 4/9, 4/16, 4/23 and 4/30. We hope to see you there!

My Belief:
I consider it a
privilege and a blessing to serve the Double File Trail Elementary Community as
the principal. I believe in our students and their ability to
achieve excellence in education. I want to partner with you to make this
happen. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any member of my
team in support of your child’s education. We are ALL here to
