Week of 9.16.19
Hello Brave Community!
Happy Tuesday! We are off to such
an amazing start of school! Our students
have settled into their classrooms.
During classroom visits, I can’t help but to notice high levels of
authentic engagement. Our teachers are providing an exceptional teaching and
learning experience for all of our BRAVE students!
As a Leader in Me campus, we highlight one of the Seven
Habits of Highly Effective People each week. Our habit of the week this week is Habit 6: Synergize! We teach our students the value of working
together with others. We provide
opportunities for teamwork among students because we know that they can get
more done when working with a group than working alone.
Word of the Week
(WOW):
This week’s word is “sedulous”. It is an adjective that means to hard working. Partner with us in focusing on our campus
WOW. Ask your student to use the word in
a sentence or perhaps you could be very intentional in your use of our
word. Thanks for your participation!
PTA Watch DOGS Pizza
Night:
This event will take place on Monday,
September 23, 2019. Please join us for
our 11th Annual Watch DOGS Pizza Night at our School. We will meet in the school cafeteria at 6:30
p.m. for free pizza and drinks; there will be a presentation about our Watch
DOGS (Dads of Great Students) program.
Library Nights:
Library Nights are back! Join us in the library most Tuesdays, from
6:00-7:00 p.m. for a Read Aloud and an activity. The next few Library Nights are scheduled for
9/24, 10/8, and 10/22. We hope to see
you there!
Birthday Book Club:
Birthday Book Club is a great opportunity to honor your student’s
special day, as well as help the school by donating a book to the library!
For a donation of $15, your student will get to pick out a new hardcover
book from our special Birthday Book Club shelves, have their picture taken for
display in the front hallway outside the library, and be featured on the
morning broadcast announcing their birthday and the book they’ve chosen to
donate to the library. A sticker will be
placed inside the cover of the book with the student’s name and birth date so
everyone knows who to thank for the addition of the great, new book! And
finally, your student will get to pick out a birthday Spirit Stick that is only
available through Birthday Book Club.
For more information you can contact the library at 512-428-7411.
Pet Clinic:
Take advantage of our Fall Pet Clinic;
it is scheduled for Monday, October 21, 2019.
The hours are 6:00-7:00 p.m.
