Week of 12.2.19

Hello Brave Community!

Happy Monday Evening!  I hope that you all had a restful and blessed Thanksgiving Break.  I took full advantage of the opportunity to relax and spend quality time with my family and friends.  While I enjoyed my week off, it feels great to be back on campus.  There is positive energy in the air; our staff seems refreshed and prepared to provide each of our BRAVE students an amazing teaching and learning experience here at DFT!

As a Leader in Me campus, we highlight one of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People each month.  Our habit of the month this month is Habit 3: Put First Things First!   We teach our students to prioritize and spend time on things that are most important.

Word of the Week (WOW):
This week’s word is “PHENOMENAL”.  It is an adjective that means very remarkable or extraordinary.  Partner with us in focusing on our campus WOW.  Ask your student to use the word in a sentence or perhaps you could be very intentional in your use of our word.  Thanks for your participation!

Penguin Patch (Kids’ Holiday Shop):
Our PTA needs your help.  They are hosting a holiday store on campus that will allow our students to purchase gifts for their friends and family. If you are able to help, please contact Sarah at 708.275.9320 or sarah@dftpta.org

UIL at DFT:
Visit our UIL web page for important information about participation.

My Belief:
I consider it a privilege and a blessing to serve the Double File Trail Elementary Community as the principal.  I believe in our students and their ability to achieve excellence in education. I want to partner with you to make this happen.  Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any member of my team in support of your child’s education.  We are ALL here to support and encourage our students to BE BRAVE, CHOOSE KIND and LEAD ON!
