Brave New 9.3.20

 Hello, Brave Community!

I hope that you are doing well and staying dry.  We are two full weeks into this school year, and I am proud of the partnership that we have developed with our families.  Thanks so much for your support, kind words, and assistance during this time of virtual learning.  We absolutely attribute so much of our students’ success to you and your efforts.  We appreciate each of you!

Tuesday, September 8th:

On Tuesday, September 8th, instruction for students at all grade levels will be asynchronous.  Students must complete or engage in an activity/assignment and submit it prior to 11:59 pm to be counted present.  Please email me if you have questions about this. Teachers and administrators will be preparing classrooms and campus common spaces for students who are returning to campus on September 10th or 15th.

Synchronous instruction will resume on Wednesday, September 9th.  We appreciate your flexibility and understanding.

Open House:

Each grade level will host two identical sessions on Thursday, September 10, 2020, 5:30-6:00 pm & 6:10-6:40 pm.  Teachers will review how to access Schoology (class meetings/lessons), how to submit assignments, the only two ways to be counted present during virtual instruction (attend synchronously or submit work by 11:59 the same day), summarize what to expect during in person/on campus learning, and explain ISIP.  Please plan to attend; we have so much to share with you.

On-Campus, In-Person Learning:

Round Rock ISD will begin welcoming students back for on-campus learning in two phases.  Beginning September 10, students who are served primarily in self-contained special education settings — about 1 percent of students — will have the option to attend school on campus.  Days later, on September 15, we plan to allow students who have selected on-campus learning as their preference to return to their schools.  This video shows how our elementary campuses will look and operate for the 2020-2021 school year.

Schoology:
