Brave News 9.10.20

 Hello, Brave Community!

I hope that you are doing well and staying safe.  I am excited that we finally get to welcome in some cooler weather!  Summers are fun, but it’s nice to get some relief from the Texas heat.

Thanks again for your support and partnership during this time of virtual learning.  We continue to attribute so much of our students’ success to you and your efforts.  As we move into Phase II of this school year, I ask for your continued patience and support from home.  I feel great about our plan to welcome 275 students on campus on Tuesday, 9/15 for in-person learning, while maintaining an effective and solid virtual learning experience for all of our families who will continue that path.

Open House:

Each grade level will host two identical sessions TODAY, September 10, 2020! Sessions are: 5:30-6:00 pm & 6:10-6:40 pm.  Teachers will review how to access Schoology (class meetings/lessons), how to submit assignments, the only two ways to be counted present during virtual instruction (attend synchronously or submit work by 11:59 the same day), summarize what to expect during in person/on campus learning, and explain ISIP. Please plan to attend; we have so much to share with you.

On-Campus, In-Person Learning:

We are so excited to welcome students into the building on Tuesday!!

When students arrive on Tuesday, they will enter the building through three different entrances and exit the building in the same manner.  The entrance and exit patterns for arrival and dismissal are grade-specific to control the flow of traffic and ensure social distancing.  There will be many staff members out front to WELCOME and assist. Also, the entrances will be labeled.

Please try to remember to bring district-issued devices.  However, if you forget, we definitely have a backup plan.  The most important thing to us is that each student has an AMAZING first day back!

Access to the building will be very limited.  We will have plenty of staff to help get each student to their new classroom.  Special arrangements have been made for Pre-K and Kinder students; familiar Pre-K and Kinder teachers will be present to greet our youngest Braves and personally escort them to their new classrooms.

Here is a link to a helpful video about arrival, dismissal, lunch and safety protocol.

We need a little bit of help. Please complete this On Campus Learning- First Day Information- Parent Survey so that we can plan accordingly for breakfast, lunch and dismissal.

And, please email me if you have any questions. No question is too great or small!
