Brave Newsletter 10.21.20

 Hello Brave Community!

Happy Wednesday! I hope that you are all well and that all of our students, whether virtual or in-person, are engaged in an exceptional learning experience.

As a Leader in Me campus, we highlight one of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People each month.  Our habit of the month this month is Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind!   We teach and model for our students how to plan ahead and set goals.  We emphasize the importance of being prepared.

Word of the Week (WOW):

This week’s word is “PERSEVERE”.  It is a verb that means to work very hard, especially when something is difficult.  Partner with us in focusing on our campus WOW.  Ask your student to use the word in a sentence or perhaps you could be very intentional in your use of our word.  Thanks for your participation!

Weather:

Over the next week, our Texas weather is slated to take an interesting turn.  We will likely experience sunny, warm, rainy and very cool weather – all in one week!  Please encourage your child to dress appropriately for the weather. Because we love seeing their sweet faces, we want to keep each of our BRAVE students healthy so that they remain well and can participate in learning.

Masks/Face Coverings:

Please make sure your child wears a face mask to school each day.  We also ask that you pack a spare one or two masks in their backpack.  Thanks a ton!

Red Ribbon Week:

Red Ribbon Week is a drug and violence prevention campaign.  We will celebrate Red Ribbon Week during the week of 10/26-10/30.  There is a theme each school day.  Please allow and encourage your child to participate as we raise awareness and teach our students to be brave, responsible leaders.

Monday, 10/26: Proud to be Drug Free! - Wear Red!

Tuesday, 10/27: Put unhealthy choices to bed! - Wear Your Pajamas!

Wednesday, 10/28: Use your head to make good choices! - Wear Your Hat or Crazy Hair!

Thursday, 10/29: Sock it to unhealthy choices! - Wear Silly Socks!

Friday, 10/30: Say BOO to Drugs! - Wear Your Character Costume!
