Brave News 1.13.21
Hello Brave Community!
Happy Wednesday and
Happy New Year! I hope that you had an enjoyable
Winter Break and an enjoyable Snow Day on Monday! The bonus day off was well appreciated. We are now rested and ready to continue to
provide an exceptional teaching and learning experience for all of our BRAVE
students!
As a Leader in Me campus, we highlight one of the Seven
Habits of Highly Effective People each month. Our habit of the month this month is Habit 5:
Seek First to Understand, then to be
Understood! We teach our students
to listen to others and to try to understand the views and feelings of others,
even if they are different from their own.
Word of the Week (WOW):
This week’s word is “REJUVENATION”. It is a noun
that means the act of making something new or fresh again. Partner with
us in focusing on our campus WOW. Ask your student to use the word
in a sentence or perhaps you could be very intentional in your use of our
word. Thanks for your participation!
From our PTA Parent that is responsible for our Yearbook: We need more pictures for this year's yearbook. What I would especially like are pictures of students working on school projects or homework if they are virtual learners and I would love classroom photos from all grades. I would also love pictures of the kids dressed up for Red Ribbon Week or the Christmas Holidays. You can email them to me at danni@dftpta.org
From our Librarian: Virtual families: want library books for your child? Go to the library website and click on the curbside form! More info is on the website, so go check it out. All families: We are beginning to lend board games again! Click here to look at the titles we have. See one you like? Send Keri_Rabe@roundrockisd.org an email.
Especially for 5th Grade Parents…
Hernandez 5th to 6th Grade Transition Information Sessions: We want to partner with you in order to make sure you get the necessary information to make choices that are in your student's best interest--choices that allow them to keep all dreams and possibilities open. We will explore the options on your student's 6th-grade choice sheets and explain how these choices can affect your student. Parents, you are the key to your student's success. Join the webinar! Tuesday, January 19th, 6:00 - 7:00 PM OR Thursday, January 21st, 6:00 - 7:00 PM
From Family Connections: Access the Spring 2021 slide deck for information on their session ‘Digital Footprint and Identity’. It’s a topic we know is relevant and critical to overall student success and well-being. This live session is an opportunity to learn about digital footprint and identity, and what this means for families and students. When: Thursday, January 21, 6:00-7:00 p.m. View this flyer for more information; pre-register at tinyurl.com/rrisdparentprogram
