Brave Newsletter 5.20.21

 Hello Brave Community!

Happy Thursday! We are down to the final few days of school! I am confident that we will finish strong this last week of the 2020-2021 school year! Thanks so much for all that you have done to partner with us during this most unusual school year.

Student Devices During the Summer Break:

We have received some really good questions regarding what to do with the devices during Summer Break that have been checked out to students. Families have the option of keeping the device checked out to their student over the Summer Break.  The benefit of keeping the device during the summer is continued access to Schoology and other independent learning activities.  The benefit of not keeping the device during the summer is that the school will have plenty of time during the summer to repair and refresh devices so that they are ready for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Please make a decision based on the needs and intent of your family and respond on this form by Wednesday, 5/26 at noon so that we can plan accordingly.

From Transportation:

Please make sure that students keep up with their Smart Tags over the Summer Break. Tags are intended to be used for multiple years. Transportation will not automatically send tags to students who have been issued tags in the past.

Especially for 5th Grade Parents:

Our 5th Grade Celebration will be Wednesday, 5/26, 6:00-7:30.  Please join us for our Reverse Car Parade at Double File Trail Elementary School.  Feel free to decorate your car for your 5th grader; we only ask that students be seated safely in the vehicle.

Family members that are not in the car parade can line both sides of Chandler Creek Blvd with signs, noisemakers, etc. to cheer on their DFT 5th grader.

There will be photo opportunities in the front of the school before and after the parade. Mr. Gonzalez will announce fifth grade names on FM broadcast (106.1 FM) and teachers will pass out treats at the end of the parade route.

 My Belief:

I consider it a privilege and a blessing to serve the Double File Trail Elementary Community as the principal.  I believe in our students and their ability to achieve excellence in education. I want to partner with you to make this happen.  Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any member of my team in support of your child’s education.  We are ALL here to support and encourage our students to BE BRAVE, CHOOSE KIND and LEAD ON!

Most Grateful,

Alifia Britton, Proud Principal of Double File Trail Elementary
