Happy Monday! Happy last week of school! It has been a pleasure serving as your child’s principal this school year!  I am grateful for the opportunity to watch each of our BRAVE students grow and develop into kind leaders who will pave paths of greatness! Word of the Week (WOW): 

Each week we have a word of the week. This week’s word of the week is GUSTO.  It is a noun that means great enthusiasm or enjoyment. Ask your student to use the word in a sentence or perhaps you could be very intentional in your use of our word.  Thanks for your participation!


Increase in Charger Prices for 2023-2024

Parents, we want to inform you that there will be an increase in Chromebook charger prices for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. The new cost will be $15 for the first occurrence. However, we would like to remind you that lower prices are available for those who qualify for free and reduced lunch. If your child is missing their charger, we suggest that they purchase a charger before the price increases. This will help ensure that they are prepared for the upcoming school year. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our ITS at valerie_satterwhite@roundrockisd.org.


Student Hotspots

Parents, we want to inform you that for the upcoming school year 2023-2024, the district will not be funding student hotspots. As a result, all hotspots currently assigned to students will be disabled the week of May 29th. If you have a hotspot, you can either return it to your campus or dispose of it. We encourage students and families who need free or reduced-price internet access to enroll in the Federal Affordable Connectivity Program. This program offers internet access to eligible families at a reduced cost.  If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our ITS at valerie_satterwhite@roundrockisd.org.

We are happy to publish the Spring Edition of the Parent Programs Newsletter - 3 Engaging Ideas. This issue's focus is Math.  It is posted on the district website, as well as linked here for your convenience.


Library News

All RRISD library books were due back to school on Friday, May 12th.  Please continue to check your email for overdue notices from the library.  If you have lost a library book, contact Mrs. Rabe at keri_rabe@roundrockisd.org and let her know.

Hello Brave Community!  Happy Friday! Today was an amazing day filled with tons of teaching and learning. We ended our day with the excitement of Brave Hour!  Students were gardening, creating visual art, planning a stage play, playing checkers/chess and so much more. During Brave Hour every student must have a purpose. Consider asking your student how he or she spent Brave Hour, and more specifically what his or her purpose was today. New Arrival Procedure Begins Tomorrow!

  Hello Brave Community!  Happy Wednesday evening! We are off to an amazing school year!  Thanks for your patience and support as we launched this new school year!  For the first two days of the school year we were happy to offer our families the opportunity to walk students to class to meet the teacher and observe the new learning environment. Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, 8/17, we will shift to our more permanent arrival procedures. All students will continue to enter through the main entrance Students opting to eat breakfast at school will go directly to the the cafeteria (except for PK; they will go to the library and be escorted to class at 7:25, and then have breakfast at 7:45 with their teachers) PK-2nd Grade students not eating breakfast will go directly to the library 7:10-7:25 3rd-5th Grade students not eating breakfast will go directly to the gym 7:10-7:25 All students will will be released to head to class at 7:25 (PK & Kinder will be escorted by staff The cafe

  Hello Brave Community!  Happy Tuesday! I hope that you all had a delightful and restful Thanksgiving Break! I enjoyed time with my family, as well as some really tasty food! I am also enjoying the cooler weather. On that note, please accept my reminder to send your child to school each day that it is cold or even cool outside with a coat or jacket.  If your child does not own a coat or a jacket and you need our help providing one, please contact our lead counselor at clarissa_hollenshead@roundrockisd.org.
