Hello Brave Community! 

Happy Monday! There is so much excitement in the air here at Double File Trail, in part because our APEX Fun Run is this Thursday! Please feel free to attend this event during your child’s designated run time. (5th Grade: 7:50-8:40;  4th Grade: 8:45-9:35;  3rd Grade: 9:40-10:30;  2nd Grade: 10:35-11:25;  1st Grade: 11:55-12:45;   Kinder: 12:50-1:40;  PK: 1:45-2:15)  Thank you so much for supporting our fundraiser! 

As a Leader in Me campus, we highlight one of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People each month.  Our habit of the month for November is Habit 3: Put First Things First!  We teach our students to prioritize and spend time on things that are most important.

Word of the Week (WOW): This week’s word is “EXPEDIENT".  It is an adjective that means a convenient and practical action.  Ask your student to use the word in a sentence, or perhaps you could be very intentional in your use of our word.  Thanks for your participation!

School Spirit: Please consider allowing your child to participate in our Student School Spirit days this week. Wednesday: Wear your favorite PJs & rest up for the APEX Fun Run! Thursday: Wear orange and/or blue for the APEX Fun Run!

5th Grade Awards Assembly: Please join us for the 5th Grade Awards Assembly on Friday, November 17th, at 8:50 am in the Cafeteria. Please fill out this pre-registration link if you plan to attend so that we can print you a badge in advance. If you have not signed in at the office this year, we will need to scan your driver's license before being able to print a badge (even if you are pre-registered). Please feel free to come before the assembly to have your driver's license scanned to help expedite the sign-in process.

The Science Fair is Coming! The Double File Trail Science Fair will be held on Thursday, December 7th in conjunction with our Cultural Fair. You will receive more information about this evening event over the next week. To all 4th and 5th grade families, the Science Fair is a mandatory project.  Your child's science teacher has provided your child all the needed information. Please contact your grade level Science teacher if you have any questions.

Picking Up Students Early: If you need to pick your child up from school early, please do so by 2:30pm. Thanks!

Lunch with Your Child: Family members are always welcome to each lunch on campus with their enrolled student.  If you chose to do so, please support our three campus expectations:

  1. Please sign in and out in the front office
  2. Please limit the number of adults visiting during lunch to two
  3. Please only invite your child to join you at the designated parent lunch table

Hello Brave Community!  Happy Friday! Today was an amazing day filled with tons of teaching and learning. We ended our day with the excitement of Brave Hour!  Students were gardening, creating visual art, planning a stage play, playing checkers/chess and so much more. New Arrival Procedure Begins Tomorrow!

  Hello Brave Community!  Happy Wednesday evening! We are off to an amazing school year!  Thanks for your patience and support as we launched this new school year!  For the first two days of the school year we were happy to offer our families the opportunity to walk students to class to meet the teacher and observe the new learning environment. Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, 8/17, we will shift to our more permanent arrival procedures. All students will continue to enter through the main entrance Students opting to eat breakfast at school will go directly to the the cafeteria (except for PK; they will go to the library and be escorted to class at 7:25, and then have breakfast at 7:45 with their teachers) PK-2nd Grade students not eating breakfast will go directly to the library 7:10-7:25 3rd-5th Grade students not eating breakfast will go directly to the gym 7:10-7:25 All students will will be released to head to class at 7:25 (PK & Kinder will be escorted by staff The cafe

  Hello Brave Community!  Happy Tuesday! I hope that you all had a delightful and restful Thanksgiving Break! I enjoyed time with my family, as well as some really tasty food! I am also enjoying the cooler weather. On that note, please accept my reminder to send your child to school each day that it is cold or even cool outside with a coat or jacket.  If your child does not own a coat or a jacket and you need our help providing one, please contact our lead counselor at clarissa_hollenshead@roundrockisd.org.
